February 2026 Updates
Dear Octopus Cloud Community,
We’re excited to share that our latest Octopus Cloud platform update is now live. This release focuses on three core pillars: stronger security, smarter automation, and broader cloud and infrastructure support.
Strengthened Security & Access
We’ve upgraded the security foundation of the platform to better protect your environment and data.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): MFA via email and authenticator apps adds an extra layer of protection for your Octopus Cloud account.
- Encrypted Data by Default: Inventory and Metering databases are now encrypted by default to safeguard sensitive information.
- LDAP Integration: In addition to Microsoft Entra ID, we now support Active Directory member login to OC View via LDAP.
Smarter Data & Reporting
We’ve made it easier to understand your license position and act on aging assets faster.
- Software End of Life (EOL) Tracking: Automatically track aging assets with EOL alerts and warnings so you can proactively plan replacements or renewals.
- ELP Reporting: New Effective License Position reporting per period gives you a clearer, time-based view of your compliance posture.
- Performance Improvements: Faster widget calculations and optimized data imports mean less waiting for reports and more time acting on them.
Expanded Infrastructure & Cloud Support
We continue to expand support for the platforms you rely on.
- Cloud & Virtualization:Azure: Critical alert coverage for Azure resources.Proxmox: UUID retrieval for improved asset identification.OpenStack: Domain Name support for better mapping and context.
- VMware:vCenter 8+: Scan issues affecting vCenter 8+ environments have been resolved for more reliable data collection.
What’s Coming Next
We’re already working on the next round of enhancements:
- Deeper Azure Integration: More detailed insights from Azure to help you make better, data-driven decisions around cost, risk, and optimization.
- New Access Control System: A completely redesigned authorization model in OC View for more precise access control, so users only see and do what they are permitted to.
- Network Scan via Hypervisor: Deploy OC Collector directly through your hypervisor platform to collect data without additional network complexity.
If you have any questions about implementing these new features - such as configuring MFA, setting up EOL alerts, or enabling the new reporting capabilities - please reach out to support@octopus.cloud. We’re here to help you get the most out of Octopus Cloud.
