OC Scanner is a Windows portable executable console application that collects data from your infrastructure and provides it in a format compatible with the OC Reporter web application. The collected data contains information about:
- Datacenters
- Clusters
- Hosts
- Virtual machines
- Installed software
- Users
- Users licenses
OC Scanner can be used as an agentless or agent-based application. In the agentless approach, the scanner collects information remotely over the network and no other application is needed to be installed on the target devices. In the agent-based approach, the scanner is placed on each device, which needs to be inventoried. The configuration of OC Scanner is done over the OC Configurator application, which centrally manages the OC Scanner configuration files (scan files).
